At Babel we have spent more than 12 years helping the different bodies that form part of the Public Health System of Andalusia to progress in the defining and implementation of their strategies for modernisation of the public health services through innovation in processes, systems and methodologies.
For some years now we have been a key player in the operations of the Information and Communication Technologies Sub-Department of the Andalusian Health Service (STIC), organising our work from the Project Management Office. This unit provides interdepartmental support in the definition, management and transformation of IT processes for all areas of the ICT Sub-directorate: Infrastructure, development, processes, governance, business intelligence, architecture, agilism, interoperability, quality, security, etc.
We have also been responsible for other STIC Technical Offices that have coordinated the deployment of important clinical information systems, such as the Hospital Management System (HIS) Diraya Atención Especializada (DAE), which is already deployed in all 32 hospitals in Andalusia.
Leading supplier in the field of mobility
And continuing with the hospital setting, in addition to having implemented advanced information analysis platforms at the University Hospitals Virgen del Rocío and Virgen Macarena, we have developed a remote home care platform in collaboration with Hospital Costa del Sol and Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves for patients living with multiple chronic diseases, which implements the end-to-end management of information, from collection by intelligent wireless devices at the patient’s home, to its integration as episodes of the patient’s Andalusia Digital Medical Record.
Furthermore, in the field of mobility platforms, we have headed the most important project undertaken to date in the Andalusian public health sector, the mSSPA Project, which has managed to structure the public health app ecosystem of Andalusia, provide a light and secure access point from the mobility channel to the services of the health management systems, and create a platform open to third parties for the digital empowerment of citizens, ensuring SSPA users have access to their own medical data, of which they are the exclusive owners.
We have also assisted the Ministry of Health and Families in the preparation of their strategic plans for the technological development of the Public Health System of Andalusia, as well as the re-engineering of some of the key processes of the Andalusian Health Service in the area of the management of professionals: Employment Exchange, Tender for Transfer, Civil Service Examinations.
Finally, we have also played a key role in the modernisation of the Accreditation and Training Systems of the Health Quality Agency of Andalusia (professionals, units, websites, etc.), which are a fundamental part of the quality measurement and continuous improvement mechanisms in the Health Care System of Andalusia.
