Babel strengthens its global presence with the acquisition of Portuguese consultancy KinetIT

Babel strengthens its global position and consolidates its position as one of OutSystems' top five global partners with the acquisition of the Portuguese company KinetIT. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in Babel's expansion in the Portuguese market, where the company is consolidating its position as a key player in exponential technologies and Low Code.
With this acquisition, the company seeks to increase its presence in crucial sectors such as telecommunications, insurance and finance, healthcare and public administration. This operation represents a further step in Babel's internationalisation process, and is formalised with the integration of the KinetIT team, which incorporates its more than 60 highly qualified experts in exponential technologies to Babel's human capital, which now totals 3,200 employees worldwide. With the recent integration of the KinetIT team, which brings its 60 experts in exponential technologies, Babel in Portugal expands its human capital to more than 200 employees in the country, marking a significant step in its expansion process.
The purchase of KinetIT is part of Babel's inorganic growth strategy, which in recent years has made important acquisitions, such as the Mexican company Ironbit, the professional services unit in Spain of the German multinational Software AG, the company specialised in cybersecurity, Ingenia, and the Costa Rican company Grupo Babel. The new operation is a further step in the strategic plan defined by the company and called Plan Marte 2025, which is Babel's roadmap for the coming years, in which it aims to achieve a turnover of 300 million euros and an EBITDA of 36 million euros by the end of 2025. During the 2023 financial year, the consultancy firm achieved a turnover of 180 million euros, with a workforce of approximately 3,100 professionals, achieving an EBITDA of more than 11.5% of sales.
KinetIT is a specialised IT company that stands out as an OutSystems partner. Its focus is on building, managing and evolving customised applications that generate competitive advantages and differentiate companies. All its consultants are certified and receive regular training to maximise the potential of the OutSystems platform and support customers in maximising their investments. It has a staff of more than 60 people and a diversified portfolio of large clients in the telecommunications, healthcare and insurance/finance sectors.
In addition, KinetIT has an advanced OutSystems Delivery Center to improve its responsiveness in the development and maintenance of projects based on this technology. This centre, which has experts in all aspects of the OutSystems platform, will be integrated into Babel's network of international Digital Centres, enabling it to offer more global services with greater transformation capacity to large companies, which are the brand's main target.
The acquisition of KinetIT is a further step in Babel's process of becoming one of the major technology consultancies, with the capacity to help large companies in their technological transformation process in those regions where the firm already has a presence.
