The retail industry has always adapted very quickly to technological changes. The hyper-personalization enabled by tools like AI makes a difference when it comes to being the customers’ first choice.
The formula of technology + innovation, combined with the ability to listen to and understand customers’ needs, gives companies like IKEA a unique value. Data prediction, for example, allows them to anticipate events and know what their customers will want in the future.
A fundamental aspect is how companies like this are adopting increasingly sustainable strategies. Thanks to new technologies, they can avoid returns and even reduce packaging, significantly lowering their ecological footprint. Furthermore, they are adapting to the new system that is starting to take hold in the sector: the circular market — the exchange of second-hand products between users and companies to give items more life cycles.
All of this presents several challenges for the retail industry, which will have to face them with ever greater technological capabilities.
